Delta Zeta and DePauw

So I was reading a people magazine and came across an article that discussed the Delta Zeta chapter at DePauw university. As a member of another sorority, I was interested in what was going on bc I don't watch the news often so I had heard nothing of it. In short, it said that more then half of the chapter was asked to become alum because of their lack of commitment to recruiting efforts (recruiting is a huge part of a sorority and it has to be done constantly.) The girls suuposedly all happened to be not so popular and not so cute. I would hope that no organization would ever do this to their members and hope that Delta Zeta did this based on the recruiting efforts of these members. Here is a link to the NY times article:

How do you make links look nicer than this???

When you're posting, you can highlight "here is a link" and then click one of the little buttons above the post and add a web address to it and then the web address won't show. it's the little green button towards the left.

This chapter had 1/4 the members of other sororities on campus and was really struggling. They voted to close the chapter rather than face another difficult recruitment. The university said that if the chapter closed the sorority couldn't necessarily return to campus at a later date. Instead it was suggested that they reorganize to identify members who commit to a recruitment plan. It had nothing to do with member's appearance, but rather their willingness to change the game plan because what they'd done in the past wasn't working. Sadly, some of the women involved think this is their opportunity to be on a reality TV show and are being exploited by the media.

I realize that is probably what happened. It is just sad because this makes non-greeks have something to say about the greek community as a whole.
